Parent Guidance

The participation of parents, caregivers or significant others in the care of the child or adolescent is fundamental in CBT psychotherapy. This fact is due to the understanding of the importance of the social context (family, school, among others) in which the patient is inserted for their development, both in terms of their strengths and those that generate tension and suffering. Knowing the patient's universe allows a deeper understanding of the patient himself. Thus, parental guidance is part of the psychotherapeutic process of children and adolescents, and may vary in terms of frequency and extent depending on the individual need of each patient.
